๐Ÿชบ CODE OF CONDUCT โ€” The Nest Fest ๐Ÿฃ

Welcome to our nest!
We want this festival to be a joyful, safe and respectful experience for all the swing birds gathered here. Whether you're a beginner goldfinch or an experienced owl, this code is designed so that we can all fly in peace. Please read it with care.
๐ŸŒˆ A safe and inclusive nest The Nest Fest is for everyone, regardless of their plumage: age, race, gender, identity or orientation, nationality, religion, dance level or physical appearance. In this nest there is room for all birds.
We ask each participant to treat those around them with respect and care. May no one be left without wings because of another.

๐Ÿšซ About harassment

We do not tolerate behaviors such as:
-Offensive or inappropriate comments.
-Intimidation or unwanted surveillance.
-Recording or photos without permission.
-Non-consensual physical contact.
-Unwanted sexual advances, either in person or online.
-If you witness or experience something uncomfortable, approach our Cuco Team (they'll be wearing a bright green bracelet). They are trained to help you with complete discretion.
Taking care of the nest is everyone's job.

๐Ÿ’ƒ On the dance floor
-Ask kindly and respect "no" answers.
-Always say thank you after dancing. A "thank you" makes the soul sing.
-Take care of the connection and don't make abrupt movements or aerials outside of jams.
-Respect boundaries (yours and your partner's).
-Fly in formation: avoid collisions with other birds.

๐Ÿงผ Personal hygiene

-Freshening up before dancing is essential!
-If you're very sweaty, change your shirt.
-Smelling good = dancing well (or at least, better).

๐Ÿ•ฐ In class

-Be punctual: arriving late is like landing with one wing.
-Listen to the teachers: they're here to help you fly higher.

๐ŸŽบ With the bands

-Applaud! There's nothing like some good cheering to encourage the band.

๐Ÿธ If you drink..

-Do it wisely. If you're not in good shape, better hydrate and rest. Your safety (and that of other birds) comes first.

๐ŸŒŸ In summary

Respect yourself, respect others and take care of our common nest. We want you to have a bird-tastically good time, and for your flight to leave a good trail.

โœŠ ANTI-RACIST STATEMENT

Lindy Hop was born from a Black community that transformed oppression into art, strength and rhythm. We don't forget that we dance thanks to that history.
At The Nest Fest we are committed to ensuring that swing flies free from racism and discrimination. We listen, we learn and we build a community where everyone feels welcome.
Here we celebrate diversity. May every bird sing with its own voice.
